I recorded my first short film on a Nagra IS tape machine. Probably the best sounding recorder I have used to this day. Technically however, times and workflows have moved on, so today I carry these fine tools in my box:

Recorder/Mixer

backup/second unit: Zoom F4 (8 track timecode recorder) optionally with Sound Devices 302 for additional preamps
mobile units: 2x Rode Wireless Pro 32 bit float recorders with timecode
